Maddie Hays, MSN, CN
Functional Medicine Nutritionist
Pronouns: She/Her/Hers || Appointments Available through Telehealth
Magdalynn Hays — Maddie for short — enjoys helping her clients prioritize their health by using a “food as medicine” approach. As a practitioner, Maddie’s goal is to create a custom plan for her clients that is science-based, true to the client’s needs, and, most importantly, fits into their lifestyle.
Maddie developed a profound interest in nutrition and exercise (and the intersection between the two) during her undergraduate education at George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon. Although she was a competitive athlete for most of her childhood and early teens, healthcare and science did not initially appeal to her as a career. She originally started college as a film major but pivoted to interdisciplinary studies during her sophomore year after a health scare prompted a more keen interest in the realm of nutrition. Maddie focused her education on biology, chemistry, and exercise science, and in June 2021, she graduated from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon, with a Master of Science degree in nutrition. She is also a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Maddie’s Clinical Focuses are:
- Sports nutrition
- Women’s Health & PCOS
- Men’s health
- Gastrointestinal health and the gut microbiome
- Food allergies, sensitivities, and intolerances
When she’s not in the clinic, you’ll often find Maddie going on a long walk with her pup (usually with a podcast playing in her ears), strength training, practicing her sprints, reading the latest novel, or trying a new restaurant with her soon-to-be husband.
